Lovely museum. We came on our last day in Korea. It would have been so much better if we had come earlier and learned about the history and culture of Jeju Island and Korea. Fascinating. Never overloaded with detail but clear and concise in English
An interesting but small exhibition on the history of Jeju. Within the exhibition, they have several timelines of world history, I enjoyed this context in which the development of Jeju can be put into context of the politics and developments of the world around it.Some nice views of the surrounding area from the roof as well.
On the smaller side of museums, especially for one being a national museum. That said, it was beautifully displayed with well written information placards, written in Korean, Chinese, and English.Admission was free to the permanent exposition. I also appreciated the free storage lockers available near the museum entrance.Touring the museum didn’t take terribly long, maybe just over an hour or so depending on how closely you wanted to look at everything. I’d budget 1-2 hours to knock it out.
Since it was a rainy day, my friends and I decided to visit the Jeju National Museum as an indoor activity. If you're someone who enjoys museums and history, then this place is definitely worth a visit. We learned so much about the history of Jeju Island and it was really interesting to see all of the exhibits and artifacts on display. Overall, we had a great time at the museum and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an indoor activity on a rainy day.
