전등사는 인천광역시 강화군 길상면 온수리에 위치한 사찰입니다. 삼국시대 고구려의 승려 아도가 창건한 것으로 알려져 있으며, 대한불교조계종 총본산 조계사의 말사입니다.

전등사는 다음과 같은 특징을 가지고 있습니다.

대한민국에서 가장 오래된 사찰 중 하나입니다.

Photo taken on May 1, 2024.A temple with deep history and tradition, founded in 381 AD during the reign of King Sosurim.It is located at the entrance of Ganghwado Island, and there is no separate entrance fee.The parking fee alone is 2,000 won. There is the Daeungjeon Hall and the Pharmacist Dictionary, which are designated as treasures.The trekking course is also excellent.1. Difficult courseAfter passing the south gate, take the hiking path (wooden stairs) on the right.If you go up, you will exercise your lower body properly.Go to the top above the North Gate and cross to Jeondeungsa Temple.Down course2. Easy courseAfter looking around Jeondeungsa Temple, head towards the north gate just above Jeondeungsa Temple.This is a course that goes up through the east gate and exits through the south gate.It's mostly downhill so even children can follow easily.Not recommended if you have bad knees or are reluctant to go down stairs.Since it is a path surrounding the castle, you can enjoy beautiful scenery while going up and down.You can enjoy it, but in early May, some flying insectsBecause it is mating season, there are a lot of bugs, which sometimes bothers them.

The Daeung (Bo) Hall of Jeondeungsa Temple, which matches the natural scenery of the not-so-high Jeongjoksan Mountain, reminds us of the elegant and dignified appearance of a Joseon woman.Perhaps because it was built by Dopyeonsu, an architectural engineer at Daeungjeon, with his lover who changed her mind and abandoned him, I admire the carpenter's witty humor when I see the statue of a naked woman struggling to support an ugly woman in the temple.However, the Daeungjeon seen from below the stairs is a Joseon building that exudes the elegant femininity of a Joseon woman and boasts an alluring beauty.

It is the representative temple of Ganghwa Island and has a lot to see.There is a gallery inside and there is a parking fee, but it is not expensive.It costs 2,000 won and there are a lot of people wearing hiking clothes as it seems to be one of the trails.It's a shame that I couldn't eat here.

April is a good month for walking.The flowers are blooming beautifully in spring,Elderly people should note that it is a short walk uphill.

We drove from Seoul Hyehwa Station to Ganghwa Island Jeondeungsa Temple at 9:00 in the morning.There was a bit of traffic jam in downtown Seoul and we arrived at about 10:30.This is a very simple temple with a large park and hiking trails on the back mountain.The most historic thing in the temple is the ancient bell from the Song Dynasty.South Korea accepted the Buddhist faith. Although it was suppressed by the Joseon Dynasty, the temples did not disappear. I like the ancient, simple, quiet and peaceful atmosphere of the temple.There is a Templestay experience camp in the temple, you might want to try it.In spring, flowers bloom, including cherry blossoms, winter jasmine, and azaleas.South Korea has four distinct seasons. Next time it’s autumn, it’s time to see the red maples.

Sorry but not very I trusting place for tourists and if you want to hang a prayer it's 50000w so very expensive

Since I went to this temple during the winter, I feel Bomunsa looks more appealing. But with greens or colored leaves and flowers it might be better in season.This quiet temple offers the temple stay program in reasonable price.It might prify your dizzy mind while staying in such a beautiful temple.

Currently there are some pathwalks being renovated but this doesn't hinder our time exploring the old temple. Very beautiful view, cheap entrance 3000₩, with discount for kids and elderly and groups... wear hiking shoes, I don't recommend slippers, steep hike for newbies. Lots of souvenir shops outside the gates and some inside the temple. There's free flowing spring water going to a wishing well. Bus 3000 is more accessible, bus 2000 they say comes every 1hrs going back to Seoul. I recommend you use naver maps for better transpo access. Best time to visit during celebration of Buddha's bday on May, spring, then on fall, and winter, summer.
