원효암

경상북도 경산시 와촌면 대한리에 있는 원효암은 신라 시대 원효대사가 창건했다고 전해지는 사찰이다. 팔공산 자락에 위치하고 있으며, 대한불교조계종 제10교구 본사인 은해사의 말사이다.

원효암은 1986년 팔공산 산불로 전각이 소실되었으나, 1990년에 다시 중창되었다. 현재 원효암에는 대웅전, 산성각, 팔공산성지, 약수터 등이 있다. 대웅전에는 아미타불상을 모시고 있으며, 산성각에는 원효대사의 진영을 모시고 있다. 팔공산성지는 팔공산의 주요 봉우리들을 한눈에 볼 수 있는 곳이며, 약수터는 깨끗한 약수가 솟아나는 곳이다.

원효암은 팔공산의 자연 경관을 감상하며 조용한 시간을 보내기에 좋은 곳이다. 또한, 원효대사의 흔적을 찾아볼 수 있는 곳으로도 알려져 있다.

Wonhyo-am (main temple: Hwalan) is a branch temple of Eunhae-sa Temple, the 10th parish headquarters of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. “Wonhyo-am” is written on a large rock at the well-organized entrance on the right side of the road leading to Seonbonsa Temple in Gatbawi. If you go up the 450m mountain path at the entrance to Wonhyoam (lots of lotus lanterns are hung elegantly), you will see Wonhyoam mountain temple.Recently, a large-scale construction was completed, including the upper part of Wonhyoam's main hall, Jujiosachae, memorial hall, religious office, tea garden, pavilion, warehouse, and vegetable garden.If you go up the 300m mountain path behind Daeungjeon, you will find the ♡ Rock-carved Buddha ♡.Wonhyo-am is a branch temple of Eunhaesa Temple, but it is a temple of the Pagyesa Temple in Palgongsan Mountain, Daegu.It was originally a small temple.The 9th Diocese Headquarters of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, Palgongchonglim, Donghwasa Temple, abbot Seongmun, the Great Seated Monk, recently took up his duties as the Wonhyo-am abbot, and recently performed a large Buddhist work himself, making it a good place to practice prayer, meditation, etc.!Monk Hwalan served as the president of the Jogyesa Buddhist congregation and youth association of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism.
