As of now, it is Gangwon Gamyeong, equivalent to the provincial government. From the place name of Gangwon-do ('Gang'neung + 'Won'ju), it can be seen that Wonju is the fundamental city of Gangwon-do, and Gangwon Gamyeong is a place that historically proves why Wonju is the fundamental city. There is also a space showing the names of provincial governors who have been appointed since the reign of King Taejo. Wonju Fighting

An ideal hideaway, with fresh and quiet vibe. It's lovely to see a duck and her offspring swimming around the lake every time I came, the lotus is quite gorgeous in the summer and autumn. I loved that I could sit here for how long I want until 10 PM. There's also a wee museum inside the premise, where you can see the ancient handwritten letters.

Gangwon Gamyeong has been a provincial governor since the early Joseon Dynasty. Located in downtown Wonju, it is good to take a walk during the day, but i recommend to go at night because of the soft light of the night view. If you pay 2000 won, you can try on hanbok and take a pictures(11:00-16:00, except monday). You can play the traditional Korean game, tuho, neolttwigi. It's a very Korean place.

Located near Wonju Central Market. It is recently renovated and new attraction is added. The view at night is so beautiful as the traditional houses are reflected on a man-made pond. There was an event when I visited so people are wearing Hanbok as they walked around the area. It is a very relaxing place to go to. As of the moment, some constructions are still being done though.
