You can view the history and culture of Gangwon-do from prehistoric times to modern times at a glance. In addition to traditional cultural relics, there are exhibits of Buddhist culture such as the Five Hundred Lohan (closed on Mondays).Really a good place to know more about local culture.

What an interesting museum. It has a great place where little ones can learn about the Korean past through play, coloring and fun activities. Then, you head to the second building where you find the history of Korea with artifacts from every past era. Two incredible things apart the history is both museum buildings have a Coffee Shop and the second building’s entrance is incredible. It has a wide panoramic screen depicting the mountains at different times of the year. The whole three floors’ steps change with the seasons which the kids find fascinating and the atmosphere is tranquil for the adults. Te best part, admission and sometimes parking is free! My kids even received free treats for just going. Would recommend highly!!!

Small but awesome place! My kids really loved the museum. They had plenty of stuff for kids to experience(in both kids and non kids museums). (I guess due to covid) it was pretty empty.
