Ararichon Folk Village (정선아라리촌)

Arirang Village is a living museum that offers a glimpse into the traditional Korean lifestyle. Nestled in the heart of Jeongseon County, this charming folk village showcases a collection of authentic Korean houses, each with its unique architectural features and historical significance.

Visitors can explore various types of traditional Korean houses, including hanok (Korean-style houses), gulpi-jib (houses with thatched roofs), and neowa-jib (houses with wooden shingle roofs). These houses have been carefully restored and furnished to reflect the everyday life of people who lived in Jeongseon during different periods.

In addition to the traditional houses, Arirang Village offers a variety of cultural experiences. Visitors can participate in traditional crafts workshops, such as making pottery or weaving, or learn about the history of Jeongseon and its famous folk song, Arirang. The village also features a traditional market where visitors can purchase local handicrafts and souvenirs.

It's a place where you can go in and look around for free. The facilities are clean and well maintained.

It was really nice especially the Arirang song's perfermance. The majority of small shops were closed cause it was not a touristic period. I think it's better during summer but still nice with autumn colors. No English speaking staff.
