Samcheong-dong Sujebi

Samcheong-dong Sujebi is located right next to the Samcheong-dong office and has been in business since 1982. The main menu here is sujebi, which is made with pumpkin slices, clamshells and potatoes in jars, and potato pancakes, which are made with only 100% potatoes. It was recently introduced in a Japanese magazine, and it is a good restaurant to eat in line. Nearby, there are tourist attractions in Seoul such as Bukchon Hanok Village, the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and Deoksugung Palace.

Got there around 2 but was surprised there was still a queue. The queue moved pretty quickly and ordered the classic Sujebi and added the 쭈꾸미 and potato pancake. The 쭈꾸미 was surprisingly delicious as the other dishes. Had a really good meal and prices are amazing

Nowadays, I try to cram in a couple of Michelin restaurants into my trips, more when I travel alone. This is due to extra costs for all and not everyone thinks Michelin Star Restaurants and Bib Gourmands are that great. But after this experience, my traveling companions are asking why I did not include more Bib Gourmands into our itinerary. 🥴Arrived at 11.30am and there was already a queue of about 25-30 ahead of us! We waited about 30 mins and were allowed in earlier because we accepted seating in a Korean style tatami dining room where you seat cross legged, dining from a low table. Bad mistake. The restaurant has two dining halls. Both are big enough to accommodate at least 30 tables each, packed like sardines. You can imagine the popularity and all they sell is what we call Mee Hoon Kway! But the broth. Oh that is something out of this world. It is full of umami and seafood sweetness. You actually can see baby clams in it. Tastes like the sea came into your pot. We ordered one portion each and it came in one big pot. The dough was slightly chewy in a good way.We also order spicy octopus which was also extremely good. The chives pancake was quite normal but on par.Total cost came up to be 74000 won which is reasonable. From a food taste and value for money, this is so far the best Bib Gourmands in Seoul for me. After you taste this Mee Hoon Kway, all others, especially in Singapore and even those in Malaysia pales in comparison!

No reservations allowed. When we walked in for dinner, we could easily get a table but the restaurant fills up very fast. I found out the sujaebi is literally like Malaysian pan mee. The soup is hearty and delicious The makgeolli served in a mug seems very authentic. Menu is limited. Another Must order is the potato pancake which seems bland to me. Food is served quickly and efficiently.

This highly-rated restaurant on the map offers a delightful selection of Chinese noodles. Located just a 20-minute walk from the famous historical building nearby, it's a convenient spot for a satisfying meal. The menu may be concise, but the generous portions and affordable prices make it a great value for your money.

Michelin 米粉糕/板面 in seoul. Long queue but it moves fast. Waited 10mins @1300 on Friday afternoon. Soup is tasty and not oily, dough is soft and chewy. Nice food that goes easy on the stomach.
