Learn about the cities prison, its creation, and memorial to those that were imprisoned in it for 80 years. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of information and size of what you could see. The narrative is certainly, and rightly, a criticism of Japanese imperialism but it is also about the struggle for Korean independence and democracy!Cost is 3000Won for adults and less for seniors and children. Large layout with reconstructed buildings, gift shop, bathrooms, and great overall exhibits. You will learn more about Korean History during Japanese occupation, life in the prison, and testimonials of Koreans, “ in Korean”, who were imprisoned for there until 1987 years when it was shut down as an active prison.
