Pinocchio and Da Vinci Italian Village (이탈리아마을 피노키오와 다빈치), located in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, is a unique Italian cultural theme park that opened on May 1, 2021. Situated right next to the popular Petite France, this village is dedicated to the beloved fairytale character Pinocchio and the brilliant Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci, making it the only theme park in Korea with this specific Italian theme.
Key Features:
Italian Ambiance: The village is designed to resemble a town in the Tuscany region of Italy, featuring colorful buildings, narrow alleys, and stone-paved roads, offering a distinctly European atmosphere.
Pinocchio Theme: As the official partner of the Collodi Foundation in Italy, the birthplace of Pinocchio, the village showcases various exhibitions and performances based on “The Adventures of Pinocchio” by Carlo Collodi.
Da Vinci Theme: The park also celebrates Leonardo da Vinci, displaying his inventions and artwork, providing educational and imaginative experiences for visitors.
Exhibitions and Performances: Explore themed exhibition halls dedicated to Pinocchio’s adventures and Da Vinci’s masterpieces. Enjoy marionette performances and other European-style shows in the outdoor theater.
Photo Opportunities: With its charming Italian architecture and character statues, the village offers numerous picturesque spots for photos. The 10.8-meter-tall Pinocchio statue at the entrance is a popular landmark.
Connection to Petite France: Located adjacent to Petite France, a French-themed village inspired by “The Little Prince,” visitors can easily enjoy both unique cultural experiences in one trip. Combination tickets are often available.
European Antiques: Like its sister park Petite France, Pinocchio and Da Vinci Village features displays of European antiques, including dolls, music boxes, and furniture, collected by the owner over many years.
