Hwabon Station (7) is a small and compact station on the Jungang Line located in Hwabon-ri, Sanseong-myeon, Gunwi-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do.It was completed in 1936 and opened for business as Botong Station on February 1, 1938. The current station was renovated in 2011 by KORAIL and Gunwi-gun, preserving the old appearance of Hwabon Station built in 1936 and making it convenient for travelers. It has been well renovated and decorated.A total of 6 trains stop at Hwabon Station a day, 3 upbound (towards Cheongnyangni, Donghae) and 3 inbound (toward Dongdaegu, Bujeon), and the average number of passengers per day is about 20 for both boarding and alighting, and the train does not stop. There are a total of 40 inbound and outbound trains per day, including approximately 34 passenger and freight trains.When you get off at Hwabon Station, you can see typical historical buildings built during the Japanese colonial period and the Hwabon Station Civil Monument.It was built as part of the ‘Simplified Station Monument Construction’ project jointly conducted by poet Park Hae-soo and Daegu MBC. It is a simple station that is not a cultural asset and does not have much to see, but the erection of a city monument creates a more elegant atmosphere.Another attraction of Hwabon Station is the water tower located behind the station.The water tower is where you can catch a glimpse of the traces of the steam locomotive that ran in our country from 1899 to 1967.The Hwabon Station water tower, built in a circular model, is believed to have been built in the 1930s. It is designated as a railroad cultural asset, and you can even look inside. The exterior of the water tower, which is about 20 meters high, is covered with ivy. An exotic landscape, like the tower from the German fairy tale . Inside, two types of pipes and vents that supply water from the water tank and raise heated water remain. The water tower, which has not been used for a long time, is covered in moss as if reflecting the passage of time, and the phrase 'Coal cleanup, coal conservation' and children's graffiti are written on the wall.Residents of this area are expressing concern, saying, "Trains were a useful means of transportation for residents because road traffic in this area was poor. It's a small station that still functions as a train station, and it's very pretty. If you buy an admission ticket of 1,000 won and go inside, you can see the water tower that used to supply water to steam locomotives. This was the first time I realized that steam locomotives require a lot of water.The store in front of the station sells something called 'plum bread'. Hwabon Station was ranked as the most beautiful simple station.It is located in a location that is perfect for taking pictures of history. When you go inside, the waiting room is friendly. You can purchase an entrance fee to the railway and water tower for 1,000 won from the kind station manager, and the ticket is very pretty.When you pass through the ticket gate, you can actually see freight trains passing by.So getting on the tracks can be dangerous.The signpost guiding the station was also standing politely, just like the old days. If you follow the road going down to the water tower, you will see a towering water tower.Yeokjeon Shop in front of the station is said to have been a filming location for the movie . In fact, there is the house of the main character, Hye-won, not far from here (about 10 minutes), so it would be nice to visit it together.Take a commemorative photo of your feet on the manhole cover in front of the station. 👍

How many people around you have been here? I visited because they said there was a lot to see... Hwabon Station is small and there's nothing special inside. The station itself is very small, and it has been well-renovated, so it has the appearance of a pretty simple station. The train doesn't stop, but it passes by. So it is illegal to enter the railroad tracks. Photos are great, but safety comes first.1,000 won may be cheap, but is it really a development fund rather than an admission fee? I think you can think of it like this. When you go inside, there is a water fountain that used to fill steam locomotives with water in the old days. I also understood after reading the explanation. There is a horse statue inside the water fountain and a girl and a cat looking out.This is the only Hwabon Station, so if you come here on purpose, you may be disappointed. The passing road is good. Still, it seems like there is a mural village and an exhibition of old memories. Little Forest Hyewon's house is about 7 kilometers away. It's nice to take a look around. It's a little fun, but I hope more customers come to our small town.
