미타사는 충청북도 음성군 소이면 가섭산에 있는 대한불교조계종 제5교구 본사 법주사의 말사입니다.
630년(진덕여왕 8) 원효대사에 의해 창건되었다고 전해지지만 정확한 창건 연대는 알려져 있지 않습니다. 고려시대 도선국사, 조선시대 무학대사, 사명대사 등 여러 대덕 스님들에 의해 중창되었습니다.

미타사의 주요 볼거리 및 즐길 거리는 다음과 같습니다.
-지장보살입상: 동양 최대 크기의 지장보살입상으로 높이 23m, 무게 500t입니다. 1982년 충청북도 유형문화재 제130호로 지정되었습니다.
-미타사 대웅전: 조선시대에 건립된 대웅전으로, 아미타여래불상을 모시고 있습니다.
-백제 삼층석탑: 백제시대에 건립된 삼층석탑으로, 국가유형문화재 제18호로 지정되었습니다.
-미타사 석조아미타여래좌상:고려시대에 제작된 석조아미타여래좌상으로, 충청북도 유형문화재 제129호로 지정되었습니다.
-미타사 천불암: 천불암에는 다양한 불상들이 모셔져 있으며, 조용한 분위기 속에서 명상을 할 수 있는 공간입니다.

Mita Temple has Geungnakjeon Hall, a rock-carved Buddha, a charnel house, and a nursing home. The charnel house is spacious and can be used by the family.

There is an old Buddha carved on a rock. It seems to have been written that it is presumed to be from the Goryeo Dynasty. There is also a very large Buddha at the entrance.
