보은 법주사는 충청북도 보은군 속리산면에 위치한 조계종 사찰입니다.
신라 진흥왕 14년(553년) 의신대사가 창건한 법주사는 천년 이상의 역사를 자랑하는 한국 불교의 명찰입니다.

법주사는 다양한 문화재를 보유하고 있습니다. 국보 제55호인 팔상전은 우리나라에 남아있는 유일한 목탑입니다. 보물 제450호인 석가탑은 신라 시대의 석탑으로, 높이가 약 10m입니다. 또한, 보물 제1083호인 법주사 삼층석탑은 고려 시대의 석탑으로, 높이가 약 7m입니다.

법주사는 아름다운 자연경관으로도 유명합니다. 법주사는 속리산 국립공원 내에 위치하고 있어 주변에는 울창한 숲이 자라고 있습니다. 특히, 법주사 뒤편에 위치한 팔상전 뒤편에는 석굴암과 비슷한 석굴암이 있어 많은 관광객들이 찾아옵니다.

All the whole of Korea the best location is a temple which is a huge area, the best spot to enjoy the landscape. The beautiful wooden pagoda, 4 kinds of different bell. You will get a holy water from here.Before the entrance to the temple, there are a lot of fresh jujubes shops they let you taste so you can buy some after visit the temple.

It is a good place for healing.You can see the 3 each giant stone at the left side of this temple.Also in the middle of the temple, You can see the giant Buddha statue. This statue used to be formed a cement material. But after the time pass cement had a crack and moss problem. So They changed a cement to bronze and bronze to gilt bronze.

Very cool temple with the biggest Buddha Statue in Korea! Also normally the monks hit this big gong only once every day at 5pm. We had the „luck“ to be there at the same time as about 200 british jamboree children and every one of them who liked got to hit the gong! So we got to experience the gong not only once but about a hundred times while we were there! Kinda annoying but fun at the same time.>ㅇ

There are countless Buddhist temples found among the many mountains of Korea. This one is top 5 in all of Korea, without question. Few have a longer history than Beopjusa Temple, but what makes it even more amazing is that many of the buildings here have been left standing for 400 years. That is amazing considering most buildings in Korea (especially those of such size, history, and importance) were destroyed during the Japanese occupation in the early 20th century or the Korean War.This temple boasts the oldest and largest wooden pagoda remaining in Korea and other Korean National Treasures, all set in the midst of beautiful Songnisan National Park. Beopjusa Temple is also one of the seven temples that make up the Sansa UNESCO World Heritage Site. You would be hard pressed to find more history found in the midst of such natural beauty in all of Korea, so I'd wholeheartedly recommend visiting this place

I desided hiking to Cheonwangbong but first I visited the famous temple Beobjusa which is located under the peak. By an entrance I paid 5000 won. I have to admit it's the amazing temple with a dominant Golden Maitreya Buddha Statue.
