This is a shrine that honors the martyrs who died fighting the Japanese army during the Japanese invasions of Korea. It is located at 345 Chungryeol-daero (Anrak-dong), Dongrae-gu, Busan.It originally started as Songgongsa Shrine, which enshrined Dongnae Busa Song Sang-hyeon, who led the Battle of Dongnae Fortress, but in 1624, at the suggestion of Seonwisa Lee Min-gu, it received its current name, Chungnyeolsa Temple, and also enshrined General Jeong Bal, who fought in the Battle of Busanjin.Afterwards, it was moved to its current location in 1652, and various annex buildings were added to add the function of a seowon. Since then, the number of people enshrined here has continued to increase, including Jo Yeong-gyu, who died with Song Sang-hyeon in the Battle of Dongnae Fortress, Yun Heung-sin, who died in the Battle of Dadaepo, and Jeong Un, who died in the Battle of Busanpo. Currently, the 93rd memorial tablet is enshrined. It is one of the 47 academies across the country that were excluded from Heungseon Daewongun's order to abolish academies.A memorial service is held every year on May 25th. Because it is a place where the spirits of those who sacrificed their lives for the country until today's Busan exists, it is one of the places where local figures, such as the mayor of Busan or the mayor of Dongrae-gu, visit to pay respects on special days, such as the first day of the new year or the day after the election, like the National Seoul Cemetery in Seoul.Source: Namu Wiki

ChungnYeolSa Temple is a shrine dedicated to the memorial tablets of patriotic martyrs who died in Busan during the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592. You can see beautiful plum blossoms in spring. Near Chungnyeolsa Temple, there is a restaurant called "Choga's broiled eels." You can enjoy delicious food at a reasonable price, so I recommend going there🤓
