I left Mars at dawn to look at the stars and it took 2 hours, but I couldn't see anything 😭I got into the car and fell asleep for an hour, then woke up to the sunlight and took a lot of pictures of the area around the observatory at sunrise.

This is an astronomical observatory named after the late Dr. Cho Kyung-cheol near the summit of Gwangdeoksan Mountain. Because it is located relatively high up, it is free from surrounding light pollution. For stargazing, please make sure the moon is not bright before visiting. It is very cold near the summit.I was very nervous driving on my first visit because the ramp slope was so steep. When you enter the road between the pension town and the national highway, you need to be careful while driving.I visited twice. The first time I visited to see the sun set, and the second time to see the sunset. At an altitude of over 1000m above sea level, astronomical observations are possible in a relatively clear atmosphere. Before the observation begins, you can receive a 10-15 minute video briefing at the planetarium about the sky you will be observing that day. Many families visit, and many people bring their own telescopes and cameras. There are quite a few people observing the sky from parking spaces.

A good place for stargazing in Gyeonggi-do. However, it is unfortunate that light damage has increased in this area recently... When stargazing, be careful to avoid causing any harm to others as much as possible.

If you are lucky enough, you can see the Milky Way with your own eyes. But it doesn't look as dramatic as the picture. Although it is good to visit the observatory, it has become more famous as a place to take pictures with the observatory in the background. Since it is not a camping site, please refrain from sleeping outdoors or pitching a tent.
