Arrived at Mindungsan Station. (11:24)When I left the station, the city tour bus was waiting. The daily rate was 10,000 won per person. How can it be this cheap? It is only about one-third or one-fourth of Japan.I got off at Jeongseonjang after about 40 minutes. We were given one hour for lunch and grocery shopping.I ordered tadpole noodles and gondre rice (12:36). Perhaps because it was a rainy day, the tadpole noodles served with ice did not taste very good. The gondre rice was just like that. The buckwheat pancakes and sorghum pancakes also tasted ordinary.I was pressed for an hour to purchase deodeok (50,000 won x 4 boxes) and pine pine mushrooms as gifts for business partners.

6/17 At a place called Daebakjip near the north gate, I was getting takeout with sprouts. When I asked for some soy sauce and chopsticks, at first he pretended not to hear me and then when I said he was outside, he yelled at me in informal language. Because of the unfriendly and rude owner, I will never go to Daebak Restaurant even if I go to Jeongseonjang again.

No matter how good business is on the weekends, what would happen if all restaurants and cafes are closed... They should change the name to Jeongseon Weekend Market, advertise that people should not come on weekdays, or buy a rice bran and take it home...

This place sells mostly herbs and vegetables. The marketeers are very nice, they let us trying the Korean snacks they made. I got lots of free snacks while walking around the market 😁 There is also one store I met that sells 국사컵. It costs ₩70,000 for the small cup and ₩100,000 for the big one, a bit pricy because it's handmade. I tried to eat something heavy for lunch. My friends and I chose a restaurant that sells Korean soups and I ordered 칼국수 (kalguksu), the noodle dish served in a bowl with broth and other ingredients. It tasted very healthy which is not my favorite. 😅 My other friend ordered 파전 (pajeon), Korean scallion pancake. It was salty and also contained lots of vegetables.

I visited the Jeongseon 5-day market once because it was famous, but I had no idea so many people were visiting.Jeongseon 5-day Market is a rural market that opened on February 17, 1966, and is a place where you can feel the nostalgia of the old marketplace. It sells various wild vegetables grown in the mountains, medicinal herbs, potatoes, astragalus, deodeok, garlic, and other crops grown directly at the farm. Agricultural products are the main products, and most of them are sold directly from farms, so you can purchase fresh products at low prices.Since 1999, the Jeongseon 5-day market train has been in operation, and related tourism products (Jeongseon City Tour, Jeongseon Arirang Theater) can be used. In 2012, it was selected as a star of Korean tourism by the Korea Tourism Organization and is attracting many tourists.Jeongseon Arirang Market, held every month on the “5-day market (2nd, 7th, 12th, 17th, 22nd, 27th)” and “weekend market (every Saturday),” is a traditional market where you can feel the small fun and warmth that cannot be found in the city. , a rural market where you can see grandmother merchants selling agricultural products, crafts, and food grown in the countryside in baskets.
