Seoraksan National Park is absolutely gorgeous, and well worth a trip into Sokcho for. Unfortunately the trail to Daecheongbong Peak is closed from mid-March to mid-May this year, but the much shorter trail up to Ulsanbawi Rock (837m high) was still open. It’s around 3.7km each-way, and takes a total of around 3 hours to hike. The first half of the hike up to Heundeulbawi Rock is gentle and scenic, and easily accessible to most. It is the last 1.0km which gets more strenuous as you head upwards, including flights of stairs up to the top. However, nothing too hairy or involving any scrambling. The views are worth it however. Definitely do this trail if ever you visit Seoraksan. While the trail is easily accessible, there are rocky and uneven segments, so hiking shoes with good ankle support or trail runners are still recommended, with hiking poles for the descent if you have poor knees. If you want to try Daecheongbong, do visit the Korean National Parks Services website to inquire, and there are two scheduled seasonal closures of the trail every year. The hike up to Ulsanbawi starts from the Seoraksan Visitor Centre, where the cable car is. They also have restaurants and cafes at this area, so you can start and end off your hike with food, coffee and/or ice-cream, as you like.

If you love the scenery of the park you must definitely go to Seoraksan National Park South Korea. We went there during summer time, so the weather was not that cold. This place has a giant Buddha statue, and you can also use the cable car to part of the mountain, there you can find so many beautiful spots. This place was also famous for hiking, maybe someday i will also hike there.
