Behind Independence Gate, Independence Hall where you can visit Seodaemun Prison, Statue of Yu Gwan-sun, Statue of Seo Jae-pil, Memorial Tower for Patriotic Martyrs, and a green space where residents can rest, there is a mountain called Ansan Jarak-gil, which is worth a visit at least once.
Visited park while waiting for Seodaemun Prison to open (9:30am Saturday). Contains memorials, a hall and a gate related to Korea's declaration of independence. Picturesque and plenty of photo opportunities. Best combined with a tour of Seodaemun Prison.
A great place to go to learn about Korea's past and present fight for Independence. Plan to spend about 2 hours walking around. Public parking and bathrooms available.
