Super tiring trail even though it’s the easiest trail. It’s tiring because there are lots of steps! Started of climbing steps that took about 10-15min before a mild pavement. Then ended with another 5min of steps to the summit. Journey up was about 35 min for me. Total journey up and down was 1h10min including some photo taking at the summit.
Entry to the trail is free. Approximately 200m of elevation to reach the peak of this trail. Trail is easy with great views of Jeju-si and Hallasan peak at the end of this trail. My 4y.o. hiked up the entire trail, we took about an hour to reach the peak. Definitely recommended for all levels of climber.
From the parking lot, it would take only 40~45min to reach the summit.. (in Autumn). Also, after for a while from the beginning the uphill road is well paved with the wooden panel. It would't be challenging to go up there( I guess even on a snowy day!!)I went up there with my friend and it was a lucky day.A crystal clear sky with a great ocean view! I could even see Seongsan Ilchulbong!!I hope you can get the same luck that I had..^^
Moderate hike up with steps and new decking. We came up with 3/5yo so it's doable for most. Fantastic views of Jeju city and part of Halisan. No views of the crater itself. Def worth the hike up!
It was raining when we planned to visit Mount Hallasan to take this easiest trail, but it was drizzling throughout the walk. And at the mid point, there was a sign that says the trail is under construction.Probably not the best time to come and may have to visit next time in the future.
Hallasan National Park is located south of the Jeju Peninusla. Mt Hallasan is the highest mountain in South Korea, at 1950m. It is a UNESCO heritage site for its beautiful natural features. There’s animals, birds, insects and plenty of plants. You can find many options of trails to walk and see the national park and volcano. There’s multiple trek options, ranging from 1 - 5.5 hours. We did the Eoseungsaengak trail, beginning at the Hallasan park office. The shortest trail, 1.3 km, finishing with great views of Hallasan. Whilst many blogs describe this as the “easiest” or for the least fit, it is still extremely challenging. I’m a fit person who exercises regularly and found it a hard walk uphill. It is a uphill stair walk mostly, some decking but all shaded by the trees. Wear good shoes, take water and mosquito repellent.Note you need to pay a small fee to park in the car park.
